Ava Shamban is an American dermatologist who is Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at UCLA. She is the featured dermatologist on ABC's Extreme Makeover (Seasons 1-4) and has developed AVA MD, her own line of specialty skin care products.
In 1978, she graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with an A.B. degree in psychology. After earning her M.D. degree in 1982 from Case Western Reserve University Medical School in Cleveland, Ohio, she completed a year-long internship in internal medicine at the [Mt Sinai Hospital, Cleveland Ohio)].
