Tzu Chi University(Chinese: 慈濟大學), or TCU, is a private university in Hualien, Taiwan (Republic of China). It was founded by the Tzu Chi foundation (UN's NGO member). Tzu Chi University is famous for its Medical education in Taiwan. It is considered to be the best medical education institution in the eastern Taiwan.
The university is situated on the eastern part of the island of Taiwan, half an hour from the Hualien Airport.
TCU has very strong ties with Hualien Tzu Chi General Hospital. (5 teaching hospitals in Taiwan)

Tzu Chi university is headed by a president and a board of trustees. The University is organized into 4 colleges which contain 18 research institutes and 14 academic departments.

- On-campus dormitories: 4 students share one room with a bathroom.
- Cafeteria: vegetable meals, NT$15 for breakfast, NT$25 for lunch and dinner.
Extracurricular activities
The university has 43 student clubs or societies.
Traditions
- 10 km Road Race: Before students graduated, every undergraduate student should pass the marathon within 80 min biyearly.
