Home is an interior home and garden orientated lifestyle television channel broadcasting in the United Kingdom, as part of the UKTV network of channels. The channel first launched on 1 November 1997 as UK Style. The channel is available on Sky Digital, Tiscali TV and Virgin Media. The channel is also available on digital terrestrial television through the Top Up TV pay-tv service between 13:00-16:00 on channel 26. Prior to May 2002, UK Style was carried on ITV Digital channel 38, 24 hours a day.
HistoryHome launched on 1 November 1997 as UK Style, Along with the rest of the network, the "UK" prefix was changed to UKTV on 8 March 2004 and is thus the channel became UKTV Style. On 12 December 2007, a two hour timeshift called UKTV Style 2 was launched on Sky Digital. The channel replaced the former UKTV Bright Ideas EPG slot. The channel closed down on 15 September 2008 and the EPG slot was used to launch Watch on 7 October 2008. As part of the UKTV rebrand, UKTV Style along with UKTV Gardens where the third phase of the rebrand, with UKTV Style rebranded as "Home" on 30 April 2009 and UKTV Gardens rebranded as "Really" on 19 May 2009,[1] and UKTV Food rebranded as Good Food on 22 June 2009. The channels name is based on the brand of BBC Worldwide cookery magazine.[2] ProgrammingThe output of the channel shows lifestyle programmes (mainly gardening, home improvements and DIY shows) that are a combination of internally produced shows and repeats of shows from the BBC archive. Before the launch of UKTV Food, it also showed many cookery programmes, however this now resides on UKTV Food. With the launch of Really and the closure of UKTV Gardens. The lifestyle and reality programmes transferred to the new channel while some of the gardening programmes that were on the now defunct UKTV Gardens returned to this channel. Current programming
